I was so honoured when Carla wrote to me saying she wanted to book a family session with me with visiting from Alberta! It was a first for me to be a part of someone's travel plans to Winnipeg, and I will have to say I will do it again in a heartbeat! I had such a blast with this family, and it gave me a glimpse into my near future as a mom of two young boys. Carla, next time you are in town lets do this again :)
I absolutely love doing newborn sessions! Maybe its the 6 years of being a labour and delivery nurse, but I feel so comfortable and right at home with the little ones. I also just love seeing new parents just so in love with the new addition to their family, and this adorable family is no different. Enjoy!
When you plan your Manitoba wedding, you probably don't assume it's going to be 47 degrees for it...well, that's just what Christien + Shelby got. I was so impressed on how adaptable these two were for the day. They were so concerned about everyone's comfort that they encouraged everyone to ditch their formal wear, hop in the lake and change into something more comfortable. Their adorable son Levi, rocked the diaper only look, while top knots and Hawaiian shirts were worn by the rest of the guests. Everyone had an absolute blast, and the dance floor was packed come sunset. We decided to do a portrait session a week later for these two on a "cool" 33 degree day...and a big shout out to the mother of the bride who kept these florals alive and looking well for a week during a heat wave!!! We had a good run going of almost weekly photo shoots there for a bit, but now that the festivities are all wrapped up I have to say, I'm gonna miss this lovely family.

Leading up to their wedding day, Christien and Shelby had me out to Christien's family's property (the venue for their wedding day) to check it out. I decided to bring along my camera so I could snap a couple of family pictures while I was there, since I hadn't seen little Levi since he was a newborn (if you look back for their newborn session, Levi is the baby that loved sleeping in a bucket lol). I'm so happy that this family chose me as their wedding photographer and its been so fun seeing little Levi grow up.
I did this family session at The Forks back in June. I absolutely love doing sessions there, whether its for families, couples or for wedding day portraits. There are so many options for backdrops which is fun...as well as many delicious treats for bribing little ones..or for just treating yourself, why not? At first Leo was slightly skeptical about this whole photoshoot thing, but after a few rounds of peek-a-boo with his elephant behind my camera, he decided maybe its not so bad after all.
Emily and Jan's wedding day started off less than ideal, when somehow their venue forgot about their wedding! Only a few hours before the ceremony was scheduled to start, friends, family, the wedding party, and neighbours put together (which was coined the "pop up wedding" by the end of the day) a beautiful wedding at Emily's brother's house. It must have been fate, as Emily's brother's neighbour is an event planner and used all her available resources to get what was needed for this wedding. As stressful as it was for the couple, it was pretty amazing to see a whole community of people show up for them like that. I knew these two were something special, and this was confirmed by seeing how much love and support came through that day for them. I was so happy and honoured to get to capture this day for Emily + Jan as they start their amazing journey together. Congrats you two!

This is probably one of the most adorable cake smashes I have ever been a part of! I'm not going to lie, I get super excited when I get to do sessions for little girls, as I am so used to seeing all the cute boy stuff (mom of boys life) but not all the adorable baby girl stuff. Like seriously, Parker's outfit complete with baby Sugar Blossom Design bracelet?? Does it get any cuter then that? And don't even get me started on the peony (my favourite flower) topped cake made by Kayla Ammeter. Enjoy all this cuteness, if you can even handle it haha
I honestly can say I have never met a couple so eager to start their lives together. After only a few months of knowing each other, these two got engaged and moved in together. Then while planning their wedding and planning to move up north they decided why wait to start their family! As I blog this session, Emily and Jan are already married and expecting their baby boy this fall. I could not be happier for these two and am so excited to meet their little guy.
I was so lucky to get to work with so many talented Winnipeg vendors for this styled wedding shoot at Hildegard's Bakery. The moment I saw that light and airy space with tonnes of greenery, I knew I wanted to shoot there. Now if you have been following me since the beginning of my photography journey, you may recognize this gorgeous couple. I did photos for their engagement session and it was one of the first sessions I ever did. Paige and LaVonne recently got married in Jamaica and volunteered to get all dressed up again and be my newlywed couple for the shoot. Everyone that contributed to this shoot was absolutely amazing and I would highly recommend checking them out if you are planning a wedding of your own.

Thank you once again to all involved, I could not be happier with how everything turned out. We are so lucky to live in a city with so much creative talent! Enjoy!
Tom + Brittany have been together for two years now and they couldn't be any cuter together. These two were laughing with each other approximately 99% of the session. So great to see my buddy has found such a great girl... and now are just days away from moving into the house they built together! Congrats guys!
I was lucky enough to get to join an amazing group of photographers for a workshop put on by the super talented Sugar and Soul Photography about a month ago. Workshops are so great as I love to keep learning and improving my skills. Annie + Dave were sweet enough to drive in from Kenora to model for the live shooting portion of the workshop. These two are all about competition, cuddles and lots of laughs.
I was so excited when Aleah asked me to do a newborn lifestyle session for their new baby girl, Signey. She is absolutely so precious, she has so obviously stolen the hearts of both mom and dad that there was just so much love to capture. Not to mention I'm very in love with their home, so that was just a bonus! Aleah you are welcome to redecorate my house anytime ;). Enjoy!
I love at home newborn sessions, and a few weeks back I was lucky to have two on the same day!! The morning started off with Meghan, Andrew and their new baby Lucas. Meghan and Andrew are high school sweethearts that have built such a beautiful home together. The day of our session baby Lucas was already over a month old...but his due date still was a week away. This little champ is so strong and alert, doesn't even seem like a baby who came over 5 weeks early. He just couldn't wait to meet his parents...and by the way that they look at him, I don't blame him one bit!
Well we lucked out with this engagement session at the Conservatory for sure! Katherine and Shay love greenery, however, were wanting images in time to be sent off for invitations for their summer wedding. The Assiniboine Park Conservatory served as a perfect venue for both of the above criteria (because those of you in Winnipeg know that even though it is currently April there is still snow on the ground) and we managed to sneak in during its last few days before it closed its doors forever.
Katherine and Shay absolutely rocked their session. All the cute cuddles and laughs came so naturally to them that they were such a joy to photograph. I am so excited for their August wedding! So enjoy these images of this gorgeous couple, and maybe it will help get your green fix in for the day as we await spring (it is coming this year, right?).
I'm so happy when I get to be a part of big moments in peoples lives...and announcing the Johnson's twin pregnancy was no different! Cannot wait to meet these two little ones. They are very lucky to have such an awesome big brother, who is so excited for their arrival this fall! PS how adorable is this pup???
I was lucky enough to get to host a Boudoir Marathon this month in Fast Photography's beautiful studio in the exchange district. Mesmereyezd Makeup and Beauty by Fey pampered the girls before each of their shoots, and we all had a blast! I love being a part of something so fun that has women feeling beautiful and empowered. Here are just a few of the gorgeous ladies that I had the honour of photographing. Enjoy!
When Brooklyn told me that she and Derek wanted their engagement photos to be taken at the exact spot where they got engaged I was extremely excited! Derek had proposed to Brooklyn on this cute little bridge in St. Vital Park. We lucked out and got one of the warm days this winter, so we got to have lots of fun in the snow without freezing our buns off! I loved working with these two and cannot wait until their August wedding :) Enjoy this session of this absolutely adorable couple!
I was so lucky back in February to be welcomed into the amazing kid friendly cafe SCOUT to take some photos. My 2.5 year old son's favourite activity for the last year and a half has been to go on coffee dates. This is always a fun activity, but once his "coffee" is done running around and burning off some energy was never really welcomed...until SCOUT. It has such an amazing play area for kids, where playtime is encouraged while Mom or Dad finally gets to drink a hot cup of coffee! They also get fresh amazing treats from local shops so you and your little one can treat yourselves. If you haven't been yet, you MUST go! And while you are there, say hi to Katrina, Phil and Stella, the family behind this lovely space. Enjoy!
I was so excited to get to do this winter maternity session at Birds Hill Park this year. Such a beautiful backdrop for a truly Manitoban style maternity session. These two (soon to be three) braved the cold like champs...I'm so thankful they hung on long enough for the sun to drop a little bit for some beautiful back lit pictures through the trees. I am so happy for these two and cannot wait to meet their baby girl this spring. Side note: they met at my stagette...so I'm thinking Kelsey is a pretty good name option for their little girl ;)
These two were absolutely awesome and braved absolutely frigid temperatures to get these images at the Ice Castles. I love when couples embrace our Winnipeg winters for photos, because the results are absolutely stunning. This gets me excited for another winter session I have coming up tomorrow...yay! More winter sessions please!!!!
