The Klassens

I love getting to see families throughout the years and watching their little ones grow up. I’ve done a few sessions for the Klassens now and they are always such a good time. Little Bo is such a cutie and I was so happy to get to be a part of a big announcement of his during this shoot. Side note; if bonfires and roasting marshmallows could be a part of every session, I would not complain.

Amanda, Scott + Kaitlyn

Due to a very chilly autumn, Amanda + Scott decided to make their autumn family shoot an at home session with a little walk out side to get some of the autumn colours in. This worked our perfectly! Little Kaitlyn loved playing with her favourite toys, cuddling with her parents on the couch and showing me how she could climb up on her toy shelf. Keeping the outdoor portion short was great as it gave her just enough time to explore and play with her dog before she was ready to head back inside. Anyone else with little ones wanting to do this idea for your late fall session this year, I’m game!

The Tennants

Going through the images to blog this session I just fell in love with it all over again. Kelly contacted me requesting a fall family/maternity session as they were expecting their second child in November. As we kept on chatting we kept finding similarities in our lives, which got me super excited for the session. Their little boy, Owen (one of the similarities we had haha) on the other hand wasn’t very excited. It was a chilly day and he was not feeling posing in a field. We did some poses and let him explore and then warm up inside the Living Prairie Museum. Now, images of little ones learning and playing with their parents is super adorable…but then insert the fact that this little boy’s mama is a scientist, then these images of Owen and Kelly looking through a microscope together just get even cuter. Kids are going to be kids, and yes, posed images are nice to have, but its the play/interacting images that truly capture who they are in this point of time, which time and time again make them my favourite.

The Blatz Family

Meet Erika and her adorable little family. Erika is my go to second shooter, so for those couples who have opted for a second shooter this wedding season, you will probably be seeing a lot more of her. I absolutely love these three little goofballs, they always make sessions super fun.

Amelia, Justin, Lily + Landon

I couldn’t have been more honoured to do this family session with this incredible family. I first learnt about Amelia from a coworker of mine when I worked as a labour and delivery nurse. I started following her on Instagram as she is one amazing human being. She has managed to take an experience that no parent should ever have to go through, and built a community of support for grieving parents. She has written a book that has helped so many, inspires people daily on how to live a healthier, less waste lifestyle and is the owner and creator of the most comfortable leggings EVER, that of course are ethical and eco friendly. She does all of this and is also such an incredible mama. I really do hope our paths cross again in the future <3

“Little” Archer is the son of the oh so talented cake maker Kayla. She makes pretty amazing cakes and as you can see, pretty cute babies. I was so thrilled to get to do an at home newborn lifestyle session for this adorable little family. Even doggy-big-brother Bender got snuggled up for some photos. Enjoy :)

Carla + The Boys

I was so honoured when Carla wrote to me saying she wanted to book a family session with me with visiting from Alberta! It was a first for me to be a part of someone's travel plans to Winnipeg,  and I will have to say I will do it again in a heartbeat! I had such a blast with this family, and it gave me a glimpse into my near future as a mom of two young boys. Carla, next time you are in town lets do this again :)

Christien, Shelby + Levi

Leading up to their wedding day, Christien and Shelby had me out to Christien's family's property (the venue for their wedding day) to check it out. I decided to bring along my camera so I could snap a couple of family pictures while I was there, since I hadn't seen little Levi since he was a newborn (if you look back for their newborn session, Levi is the baby that loved sleeping in a bucket lol). I'm so happy that this family chose me as their wedding photographer and its been so fun seeing little Levi grow up.

Vitaly, Stef + Leo

I did this family session at The Forks back in June. I absolutely love doing sessions there, whether its for families, couples or for wedding day portraits. There are so many options for backdrops which is well as many delicious treats for bribing little ones..or for just treating yourself, why not? At first Leo was slightly skeptical about this whole photoshoot thing, but after a few rounds of peek-a-boo with his elephant behind my camera, he decided maybe its not so bad after all.

Parker is One

This is probably one of the most adorable cake smashes I have ever been a part of! I'm not going to lie, I get super excited when I get to do sessions for little girls, as I am so used to seeing all the cute boy stuff (mom of boys life) but not all the adorable baby girl stuff. Like seriously, Parker's outfit complete with baby Sugar Blossom Design bracelet?? Does it get any cuter then that? And don't even get me started on the peony (my favourite flower) topped cake made by Kayla Ammeter. Enjoy all this cuteness, if you can even handle it haha

Aleah, Dustin + Signey

I was so excited when Aleah asked me to do a newborn lifestyle session for their new baby girl, Signey. She is absolutely so precious, she has so obviously stolen the hearts of both mom and dad that there was just so much love to capture. Not to mention I'm very in love with their home, so that was just a bonus! Aleah you are welcome to redecorate my house anytime ;). Enjoy!

Meghan, Andrew + Lucas

I love at home newborn sessions, and a few weeks back I was lucky to have two on the same day!! The morning started off with Meghan, Andrew and their new baby Lucas. Meghan and Andrew are high school sweethearts that have built such a beautiful home together. The day of our session baby Lucas was already over a month old...but his due date still was a week away. This little champ is so strong and alert, doesn't even seem like a baby who came over 5 weeks early. He just couldn't wait to meet his parents...and by the way that they look at him, I don't blame him one bit!

I was so lucky back in February to be welcomed into the amazing kid friendly cafe SCOUT to take some photos. My 2.5 year old son's favourite activity for the last year and a half has been to go on coffee dates. This is always a fun activity, but once his "coffee" is done running around and burning off some energy was never really welcomed...until SCOUT. It has such an amazing play area for kids, where playtime is encouraged while Mom or Dad finally gets to drink a hot cup of coffee! They also get fresh amazing treats from local shops so you and your little one can treat yourselves. If you haven't been yet, you MUST go! And while you are there, say hi to Katrina, Phil and Stella, the family behind this lovely space. Enjoy!

Dayna + Klayton

I was so excited to get to do this winter maternity session at Birds Hill Park this year. Such a beautiful backdrop for a truly Manitoban style maternity session. These two (soon to be three) braved the cold like champs...I'm so thankful they hung on long enough for the sun to drop a little bit for some beautiful back lit pictures through the trees. I am so happy for these two and cannot wait to meet their baby girl this spring. Side note: they met at my I'm thinking Kelsey is a pretty good name option for their little girl ;)

Ellyiot + Charley

If floral crowns, tea parties with bunnies, pink bows and all around adorableness is your thing...well then this is the session for you! My job was made so easy by these girls' mama...there was just too much cuteness to photograph <3 Lucky for me, I get to photograph them again TWICE this summer as flower girls for two of their aunties! I can't even begin to imagine how adorable that will be. Enjoy!

Baby Benji

Don't even know where to start with this one... it's a little bit of a sentimental shoot for this family (and myself as well if I'm being 100% honest). I've known Lisa for a while now, we went to school together and now have worked together for quite a few years. When returning from our first maternity leaves, Lisa had the genius idea that since we are shift workers, we should take turns watching the kiddos as our child care. Now almost a year and a half later, baby Benji is born and this family is moving on and starting a new journey in a different province. These pictures not only celebrate their new baby boy and being a family of four, but also as memories of their Winnipeg home. This home is the only place that I have ever dropped my son off at. Here I knew he was safe, well cared for, having fun and most importantly VERY loved. I will miss these days and be a little sad that our sons won't have the bond that our oldest kiddos do. Also, somehow I'm going to have to explain to my son that he is now in a long distance relationship haha. If that wasn't enough to pull on my heartstrings, Grandma joined in for a bit so she could have some nice pictures of her and the kids before they leave. I hope you enjoy these images as much as I do <3

Fall Mini Sessions

This year I had to cut my work year short due to the arrival of our second son. Knowing that I would have to end my work year halfway through the busiest part of the photography year, I decided to offer Fall Mini Sessions to ensure that I got to work with all the families that wanted fall family pictures by me this year. These families were troopers as we had to deal with a location change only 20 minutes before the first family session was about to start. You guys rock! Also, the change to Assiniboine Forest did not disappoint. This may be my new go to location for fall sessions...the colours were so beautiful. Enjoy!

Side note: You may recognize some faces from previous shoots... I love when families keep booking with me! It's such a compliment and I am so flattered...also love the relationships that are built and getting to watch their little ones grow <3

Family Sessions

Well, it seems that I am VERY behind on my blogging...I guess a busy fall and then having a new addition to the family will do that. Here are some images from a few of the family sessions that I did this fall! Loved all the different locations, from Assiniboine Park, LaSalle, Niverville and Harte Trail. All these families were such fun to work with....and quite a few adorable kids to boot! Enjoy :)

P.S. some of you may recognize this first family...It's the lovely Erika Skye Photography and her family! We have done some collaborations in the past and I'm sure we will have a few more coming up for you guys ;)

Lisa + Dave's Fall Family Session

Was so happy to get to do another shoot for this adorable family! They are so much fun to photograph...and in January they will be bringing another gorgeous human into this world! Could not be happier for them. Also, side note, LOVE LOVE LOVE doing fall shoots at Assiniboine Park! In a few weeks my Fall Mini Sessions will be hosted here, and this shoot got me very excited for them :) Enjoy!

Shelby, Christien & Levi

On Friday I got to capture this engagement/family/newborn session. Levi was such a trooper, I have never seen a baby so happy to be in a bucket! I am so happy for this little family and cannot wait to capture their wedding next summer. Enjoy!
